Join the Dakota County Historical Society for a Genealogy Workshop!
During the workshop, we will have a brief introductory course on genealogy. For this, we will cover the basics of genealogy research, such as where you can find information and how to organize that information once you get it. From there, we will go into how to conduct research on World War I soldiers. This will include helpful tips for completing research on our Adopt a WWI Soldier project, or your own research. The day will end with a tutorial on scanning and how to use a flash drive.

- 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Introduction to Genealogy
- 12:00 - 12:30 p.m. - Box Lunch in the room with Q&A
- 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. - Researching a WWI Soldier
- 1:30 - 2 p.m. - Scanning & Flash Drive Tutorial
The cost for the day is $25 and includes a boxed lunch. The lunch options will be a sandwich, chips, and cookie. Beverages will be available throughout the day.
