Dakota County Historical Society
To preserve, interpret and promote the history of Dakota County.

We are all experiencing COVID-19 together.

Throughout history, people have gone through experiences that have greatly impacted everyday life. This is no different.

We encourage you all to document your life today by starting a journal or diary, either handwritten or via a computer. You can also create short video clips (Vlog). While this can help us stay busy in a time of unknown, it also provides an opportunity for future generations to understand what it was like.

If you have kids, include them in the process by asking them questions, or having them start their own diary / journal / Vlog. You can also click here for an activity packet that will help them document their own history. This time capsule packet will give them an opportunity to share the same experience from a different perspective.

After the pandemic has passed, please consider donating your story(ies) to the Dakota County Historical Society's archives. You can send your story to (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).
