Dr. Jeremy Nienow will present "Indiana Jones & Archaeology Today: A Perspective from Fort Snelling." Nienow will discuss some of the most prolific myths and misperceptions of archaeology as seen through the lens of the Indiana Jones movies. He will use his recent work at Fort Snelling's Upper Post to give examples of what archaeology is typically like for Cultural Resources management (CRM) archaeologists today.

Nienow Cultural Consultants is a sole proprietor, LLC led by Jeremy Nienow, PhD., RPA. Dr. Nienow is a passionate cultural resource preservation consultant and educator. He is a registered, professional archaeologist with nearly 30 years of experience and has met the Secretary of Interior's standards for both prehistoric and historical archaeology for more than two decades. He is well known both to local historical societies, as well as archaeological communities doing board service, fieldwork, public speaking, and scholarly publications. He is the immediate Past-President of the Council for Minnesota Archaeology. Jeremy has spent much of the past several years leading archaeological investigations at both the Lower and Upper Posts of Fort Snelling, including work for the Minnesota Historical Society's new interpretive center and Dominium's ongoing Upper Post Flats development project.
