Henry Sibley and his family experienced extreme love and loss in their lifetime. Henry's life was in constant emotional turbulence from the loss of the family home in Detroit during the War of 1812, to the endearing love that was felt between he and his family. The Love & Loss Tour at the Sibley Historic Site is an in-depth visitor experience that sheds light on stories never-before heard that focus on the inner workings and relationships of the first governor of Minnesota and one of the most prominent fur traders in the Midwest during the 1800s, Henry Hastings Sibley.

Please note, this tour consists of both the first and second floors of the Sibley House. The second floor is only accessible by stairs.
