Since November 2021, the Lawshe Museum has closed to the public multiple times in order to complete renovation projects. This includes a full $1.2M from November 2021 – January 2023, as well as minor renovations in 2024-2025. We are excited to have hosted our Grand Reopening & Annual Meeting in January 2023, followed by the Grand Opening of The Curiosity Collection, our new children’s exhibit in June 2025.
The LeDuc Estate had another successful tour season and continued to offer teas and special events, like Civil War Weekend. The site welcomed numerous private and school tours throughout the year, and delivered presentations throughout the community. We are excited to continue work on the next phase of the Hastings Black Heritage Trail in 2025 and look forward to finding a way to continue the remaining work on our George Daniels Project.
The Sibley Site remained busy throughout the year, as we welcomed students on school tours from throughout the state and visitors looking to interact with the early history of Minnesota. We are grateful to have hosted the Fête de la St. Jean-Baptiste and a full calendar for Mendota After Hours.
